What a 365-product accessible-bathing catalog says about price
We indexed every published product from one independent retailer and looked at what the numbers actually show about how accessible bathing is priced.
Most writing about bathroom remodelling quotes a single average and moves on. An average is the least useful number you can publish about a catalog like this one, because the catalog is not one product. It is a shower seat at a hundred and eighty dollars and a steam enclosure at nine thousand, sold by the same shop to the same customer on the same afternoon.
What we counted
Showers4Less, an independent retailer in Denver operated by Aging Safely Baths, publishes a public catalog. We read it in full on the date below, kept every item that carries a real published price, and classified each by the type the seller themselves assigns it. Nothing here is estimated or modelled. Where the seller publishes nothing, we publish nothing.
The spread is the finding
Price in this category does not cluster. It separates into bands that correspond to how much building work the product implies. Parts and fittings sit lowest, because they drop into an opening that already exists. Pans and doors sit in the middle, because they replace a component without moving plumbing. Complete systems and steam sit highest, because buying one is a decision about the room rather than about the fixture.
